Operating off a hypothesis that Disc Golf players required specific footwear to optimize their performance, this project was deeply rooted in research, interviews, and required physical training and controlled testing environments. Results showed that, much like “Ball Golf,” a player’s dominant footwork influenced different transitions and power that are crucial for the disc throw. Terrain, distance walked, and explosive movements all contributed to the wear-testing process and footwear development. The final design was inspired by topographical maps which represented the various environments in which the game is played.
